Gamesley Community Bonfire

This Thursday (3rd November) from 6.30pm is the Gamesley Community Bonfire and Fireworks display.

Taking place at the back of Winster Mews, it promises to be fun for all the family (unless they don’t like fireworks)

If you’ve got time on Thursday afternoon and you’re fit and able you help would be appricated in terms of buiding the bonfire. If you are interested or available please contact Mick on 01457 857770 for further details.

Gamesley Christmas Market

This coming Thursday (2nd December) sees this years Christmas Market take place.

Running from 6.00pm until 9.00pm on the shops at Winster Mews, they will be a whole host of stalls, food and entertainment.

Gamesley Bonfire and Fireworks Display

Don’t forget tonights Gamesley Bonfire and Firework’s Display taking place at the back of the shops on Winster Mews from 7.30pm this evening (Thursday).

Gamesley Community Bonfire

This year’s Gamesley Community Bonfire and Fireworks Display will take place on Thursday 4th November.

As with previous years, to make the event a success we need the help of volunteers to work, both on the night and to help us put the event together, if you would like to help please get in touch with us at the GRA Office.

Summer Holiday Activities

It the start of the summer holidays today, and as well as the activities going on in Glossop, there is also a full range of activities taking place at the Gamesley Sport and Community Centre on Melandra Castle Road.

This week’s activities are as follows :

Mon 26th July – Sports coaching 1pm till 4pm and Street Dancing 1pm till 4pm

Wed 28th July – Bouncy Castle 2pm till 4pm

Friday 30th July – Music Sessions – 1pm till 4pm and 6pm till 9pm * pre booking is required

Neighbourhood Walkabout

This coming Thursday (15th July) will see this month’s neighbourhood walkabout, with Frank Wood’s from High Peak Community Housing.

The walkabout will cover the section of the estate from the Eyam Lane bus stop to the shops (Wessington, Calver, Alport etc.) This month it is starting from the Gamesley HPCH office at 2.00pm.

St Margaret’s School Fair / Car Boot Sale

St Margaret’s summer fair takes place on Saturday 26th June 2010 from 10.00am until 2.00pm

The fair will feature a bouncy castle, tombola, white elephant, home made cakes and much more

On the same day as the summer fair there will be a Car Boot Sale pitches cost £5.00 pre-booked of £7.00 on the day. Phone 857729 to book.

Steward’s Needed

We’ve just been advised that the army cadets who were doing some stewarding for Thursday night’s market are now unable to attend due to sickness.

This means that we need some extra stewards for the night to help marshall people at the event, if you can help please contact Pat on 01457 858035.

Gamesley Festive Market

This Thursday (26th Novebmer) evening sees from 6.00pm until 9.00pm sees this years Gamesley Christmas Market.

Taking place as usual on Winster Mews, there will be music, singing, stalls, Father Christmas, and lots, lots more!

Festive Market 2008

We would like to invite you to our annual Festive Market. Thursday 27th November, 5.30-9pm.

This year promises to be bigger and brighter with performances from Gamesley schools, Street and Breakdancing from Dynamite Dance, Live Music, performance from the Powderkegs Morris Dancers and a Fire Poi Dance.  We have 16 covered stalls selling everything from Christmas Gifts and Toys to Arts and Crafts, children’s clothes and Christmas Trees.   Lots of community groups in Gamesley will be raising money for their groups through raffles, tombolas and lucky dips.  There will be a range of children’s rides and activities including a bouncy castle and festive face painting!

Opened by the Mayor of the High Peak, Father Christmas and his Reindeer will be visiting Gamesley!  Families can have a professional framed photo taken with Father Christmas, a lovely gift!

Alongside a tasty Hog Roast Stall and Homemade cakes and Mulled Wine from the Children’s Centre, Hot food and drinks will be provided by Gamesley Community Café.

The Festive Market is organised by Groundwork Gamesley, Big Lottery Project supported by High Peak Community Housing, The Gamesley Residents Association, Community Café, The Melandra Castle Pub, The Children’s Centre, Gamesley Community Centre, Derbyshire County Council, Derbyshire Adult Community Education, The Cadets, Gamesley Primary School, Gamesley Library, St Margaret’s Primary School, Derbyshire Constabulary, the Fire Service, British Red Cross, Tameside and Glossop PCT and local shops agencies and businesses.
